Hi Guys

First of all I would like to say I am not if this is the correct category, so please let me know if I should change!!

I have just dismantled 3 computers and made two from these.

The one that I am having a problem with has these parts:

CPU: Intel® Core 2 Quad Q9550
CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper TX2
Motherboard: Asus P5Q Pro (Intel P45 chipset, Crossfire)
Memory: 8.0GB Corsair DDR2 800mhz XMS2 (4x 2GB)
Hard Drives: 250gb S-ATAII 3.0Gb/s
Optical Drive: 2 x IDE drives
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 896MB
Sound card: Onboard 7.1 Audio
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate
PSU: Corsair TX750W
Case: Antec Three Hundred

I connect to the display and get the dreaded no signal.

I have tried the graphics card in another machine and it works, so not that.
I have taken out the RAM and clean it but no joy.

I also notice that the optical drives do not open when I press the buttons - must be related I think?

I am wondering if I have connected all the cables correctly so am attaching some photos (hopefully)

If anyone can help on this I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance.

I don't know man. Here are my solutions to situations like this :

1.Is the monitor working?
2.Check the ram and clean it and try other positions.
3.Are you maybe using a VGA cable from your motherboard( I had to buy a DVI cable becouse that was what my graphic card only had).
4.If the fans aren't working than check the build if it is correct.

That's from me bro.

Thanks for you suggestions much appreciated.

I went back and took a good look at everything - yes I had not connected a cable to the motherboard!! Well this was the first time I had done this so note to self check and re-check. Oh well we learn by our mistakes.

Thanks again.
