Tried troubleshooting, the only component that i think may be the problem is the gpu. I just built this pc. The fans work fine. The fans on the gpu work fine. I've checked all the wires. I've checked the psu. I've checked the cpu and ram. Yet all i get other than the spinnign fans, is a red vga light and boot light. And yes, I did plug the hdmi into the gpu. When i took out the gpu and turned the pc on, the only light that stayed on was the vga one. The problem is the gpu right?

Okay. Please let us know the results.
After I installed the motherboard back into the case I noticed that there are two extra stand off screw holes that I didnt screw stand offs in. The pc case did not come with that many stand off screws so I assume those are just extra holes. I installed everything else perfectly. Im still getting the same problem. Im afraid the way I built the pc isnt the promblem. I think the problem is the motherboard or the gpu.
