Question No signal on monitor

Hi, I have an older tower (HPZ230 ff) with no HDMI ports. It only has 3 x display ports.
I have tried to connect to a monitor with:
DP - DVI
DP- HDMI
The monitor scans for a signal but doesn’t find anything.
But none of these work, could it be something to do with the graphics card installed this is a NVIDA. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you for your reply, I will try this, is there a best connection between the following:
mini dp - dp
mind dp - hdmi
mini dp - DVI
sorry I don’t have an experience with this side of computers. Hence the original question.

This works, thank you. But now there is an issue with the resolution it won’t let me change it from 640x480. (Box is greyed out)
So I’m using:
NVIDA NVS510 - mini dp - display port - monitor is hp lp2475w
The system is windows 7 professional. Do you have any advice on this?

No it was already installed. It says it’s working correctly. There are no options anywhere to adjust the resolution.
I have been googling and trying things all day.

Still the same resolution. I was thinking of getting an Ethernet cable to plug it in and try to update it, would that help?

Yes it does have windows 7. Last update 2006. This pc and monitor have worked together before i had it. May have used a different connection cable. Do you think an update would work if I can get it connected to the internet?

I changed the resolution in safe mode, would that mean the monitor is ok?

to what? and you still using the nvidia NVS510 ?
