No signal on PC Monitor after the screen turns off.

This is getting more common than I'd like. My PC won't show anything on the screen after the screen turns off because of power plan. I only have this problem when I'm leaving my PC turned on. It turns off the display and I can't turn it back on. The fans are still running and I can't long press the power button to restart my PC.

This doesn't happen when I'm on my PC using it, it only happens when I leave my PC to do something else to kill time while waiting for the download to finish.
There's no hibernate option for my PC. And my Power Plan is set to balanced.

I set the power plan so that the monitor would turn off after 10 minutes. The fans are still running and the GPU is still on. No matter how much I move my mouse, there's still no signal. It doesn't seem to say that the PC "Failed to properly shutdown" when I hold the power button during this situation.

Have you tried using the actual switch on the monitor to turn it off and back on so it comes out of standby?

Yes, and when it turns on, there's still the "no signal" written on it.

To me that seems like your video card has an issue, it doesn't come out of the mode that disables its output. What GPU are you running?

Ok, running newest catalyst drivers? Are you overclocking at all?

Also try in Control panel under Power Options > Edit Plan Settings > Change Advanced Power Settings > (New window pops up) > PCI Express > Link State Power Management. Set this to Off.
