I was playing Total War and needed to do something, so I alt-tabbed out to my browser (the game might not have been minimized but rather in the background, so the GPU - GTX 660 - may have still been under load). I then put the computer to standby briefly forgetting that I had a game running. When I turned the PC back on from standby 30 minutes later, the PC automatically crashed and reset. However, the screen stated "no signal detected" followed by a black screen. The GPU fans were still running, so I don't think it's a PSU issue. I've had this pc crash multiple times in the past due to drivers and thunderstorms and I've never had an issue like this before. This is the first time I ever accidentally put the pc to standby while gaming.
So far I have:
1. Hooked the monitor connector to 2nd DVI slot as well as the motherboard graphics to rule out any monitor or connector issue.
2. Opened case to reseat GPU and power connector.
3. Went into motherboard bios while on onboard graphics to set to integrated graphics, then back to PEG.
Also, for some reason, nothing will detect my GPU. I tried BIOS settings, device manager, HW monitor, GPU-Z, NVIDIA geforce, and system information. Did I somehow damage the GPU?
Also, I should mention that I set a mild overclock +40 core clock (no voltage changes) last week. However, it has been very stable at 1176mhz after 5 days of gaming, so I doubt this is the issue.
