My HP w2007 monitor worked during my windows 10 installation on my new computer, but says 'no signal' part way through the updates installations. It's connected to the DVI-I port of my Geforce GTX 960 GPU with a brand new DVI-D cable.

I connected my computer to my LG TV via HDMI to complete the updates, and while my computer continues to run fine using the TV, my monitor still does not receive a signal from it. I have the most recent drivers installed for all components, and I can see through the NVIDIA control center that my computer recognizes that this monitor is plugged in to the DVI-I port. I've set my computer to use my LG TV as my primary display and extend the display to my monitor for troubleshooting.

I tried connecting to a different monitor using this cable and port with no luck. I've reinstalled windows and continue to have the same issue. I'd be tempted to believe that the port is broken, but it does display to my monitor prior to the post-installation updates.

is not likely a monitor issue if 2 different monitors are having this issue. try another DVI-D cable even borrowed from a friend & try your cable on a friend's computer to see if works or not. does the new computer also have onboard video?

I haven't tried a different cable yet, but I would be surprised if the cable is the issue since my monitor does display the windows loading screen fine, and displays normally after installing windows but before the automatic windows updates. Part way through the updates something is installed or a setting is changed that cuts the signal to my monitor. Once that happens, my monitor displays normally during start up until it reaches the point that the login screen should appear, and then it says "no signal". Given this, I expect that the issue is software or setting related, but I'm struggling to identify the source of the issue.
