I've had a little issue with my pc lately, on the odd occasion the monitor would just go black and say "no signal", the only way to fix this was to unplug the pc for a few minutes and then it'd boot up and be fine.

However a few days ago I tried to open a game and then it happened again, I tried the usual fix, the monitor, keyboard and mouse came on but the second it got to Windows the monitor went off saying no signal, also the keyboard and mouse went off too.

I've tried wiping windows and installing it to another hard drive and now the keyboard and mouse stay on (I think because windows can't finish installing) but the monitor still has no signal (signal is fine upto where windows loads)

Any ideas on what it could be? It's about 5 years old now.

Thanks

the graphics card sounds as though it as lived the course of its life .. that card is truly old but lets not be hasty here,, it can be the motherboard malfunctioning and it could be the gpu .. have you tried booting without the graphics card ?
