Hi all,

I've been looking around for an answer to this but haven't found anything so I'll cut to the chase.

I am running a HDMI cable to my receiver which hooks up to my Samsung LCD TV and speakers. I also have the computer hooked up to another monitor and the computer is working fine. When I boot up, I can see "Windows Starting" through my receiver and then I lose the signal. I also have no problem connecting via HDMI to the TV directly. Not sure what's going on here. Lots of other posts about losing a signal to the monitor but coudn't find any about a receiver specific problem. Also, there was a power outage here last night which forcibly turned my computer off if that makes a difference. I had successfully used the receiver/computer combo about 24 hours before that with no problems.

Receiver: Yamaha Rx V371

Two potential issues just based on what you're saying:
1.) Did you turn on the 2nd monitor from your desktop? HDMI should work on boot as you're describing and if you didn't find Monitor 2 in the display setup in windows, it would do as you describe.

2.) Are you running other HDMI devices into the Yamaha yet?

3.) Do you lose everything on the Yamaha? Audio too?

4.) To be clear, this setup was working before the power outage?
