No Sound Coming When HDMI Cable Plugged In

I usually have a DVI cable plugged into my Monitor coming from my PC, I have a headset plugged into my motherboard so I get sound. When I plugged in my HDMI cable, I all of the sudden couldn't hear anything anymore, but when I went back to the DVI cable, sound was heard as usual. Can anyone help me with this problem? It's really annoying!

The sound is most probably being pushed through the HDMI when you connect the cable.

You will need to change the default playback device under playback devices, if you don't intend on using hdmi audio you could just disable it so you dont have any troubles in the future.

Thank you very much! I did what you said and right away sound played through my headset instead of the monitor which I found the sound would come out of. Have a great day!
