Hi There,
Not getting any sound out of my back panel realtek; The headphone jack in front works, only with headphones though. As soon as I plug in my computer speaks, I get sound but I also get a lot of feedback. Really need to get my computer speakers working for a job. I've been looking on Tomsfor solutions, including reinstalling the Realtek software, to no avail.

Asus Deluxe x79 mobo

Thank you!

Reinstalled the latest driver, and messed around with clicking all those boxes for some time. It was working fine, then I had to move it. Kept it in a pelican case, padded, so I'm not sure that could be it. It still sees that I am plugging in a device. I see in the audio manager that there is sound coming out, and that it isn't on mute.

Okay, so it works. SOMETIMES. When I plug it out and back in, it reads as a 'line in' sometimes, instead of a line out. I think it's not seeing the socket I plugged into? After a few times of unplugging and back in, it then will see it as a stereo out. Weird... Any thoughts? Is this a possible hardware issue?

try your headphones into the same port. if the error stil there you may have a failing chipset on the mb. you can see if the mb under warranty and rma it out or use a sound card. i would before rulling the chipset an issue is to try another set of speakers and look to see if the port is damaged or there dirt in it.

I've found that while my motherboard is a bit iffy with the audio, the best thing to check is the settings to see if the front and back ports run separately. I don't use headphones that often and I'm getting a new mobo so that doesn't bother me very much.
