Have you made sure your headphones were unplugged properly from your desktop? You may need to open your chassis and disconnect the front panel audio header and see if the audio from your monitor is restored. It's highly possible that the front panel audio connection might have sorted or have remained in the connected position as HD audio has a sense wire which deactivates the rear audio ports when a headphone is connects to the front panel header.

product's support page, you're running off an onboard Realtek audio solution. Have you installed the latest drivers ? Speaking of drivers, what OS are you on? It would add more info for us if we knew your monitor...
