No sound from monitor speakers

I have a S27E500 Samsung monitor connected with HDMI to macbook pro. The monitor does give sound through headphones but not through its own speakers. I have checked all settings. Any suggestions?

are you certain it has builtin speakers as appears it does not?

I have two monitors of the same model, both have same issue. Did you find the solution ?

spec sheet does not show any specs for speakers, ie whether 10W, 20W etc

here's an economical solution that i went with - work great, volume is not the loudest but definitely better than the speakers that were built into my asus 24" monitor https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M2NKJEA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

first you stated you had the same model
but the link you provided is to the LS24E510

same answer i gave the OP - no speakers are detailed in the model you linked to
so take a look at the economical option i posted a link to
