No sound from sound bar

I have a Samsung TV and sound bar and now I have just purchased Plex box from Amazon. I have used HDMI leads but this is not working correctly as I can hear background noise through the sound bar but not their voices. Someone suggested that l may need to get a different cable and change the settings on the Plex but they were unsure of what cable and how to do this. Has anyone any ideas please?

Check the audio setting on the Plex box. Change to stereo.
