No sound from speakers but headphones working fine on ThinkPad E470

I tried everything suggested online with no results. When I play audio it shows that something is being played when I select the speakers but there's no sound. Also when I plug in the headphones there's still the speakers only under audio sources but now there's sound. It's a fresh install of Windows 10. I installed the chipset and audio drivers from Lenovo myself.

Have they ever worked? Or you just purchased this?

Of course they worked fine before. Under both Windows and Linux.

Did you change anything about the system when this happened? Updated bios or drivers? Installed a new program? Recent windows update? Any mechanical or handling mishaps?

Nope. The only thing that comes to mind is the recent big Windows update... It did that right after install.

Ok so go into your settings, go to windows updates, check the history, select the latest update, then hit more info for a detailed description of what exactly got installed.
