I just got and installed a new MSI GTX 1070 which runs fine and everything, except in certain games there is no sound after the loading cut-scenes at the beginning when launching. GTA V and Far Cry 4 are examples of this, but in Thief 2014 for example, the sound works perfectly.

Is this an issue caused by my driver? My GPU at all? I'm using a DVI cable because I have a 144Hz monitor. I know that DVI doesn't carry audio and HDMI 1.3 carries audio and is also capable of 144Hz 1080p. Is this the reason why it's not working? PLEASE HELP.

Do you mean check properties by right clicking on the sound icon on the task bar > playback devices > then select the device and click properties on that? I've gone into Device Manager and disabled Nvidia High Definition Audio and still no change. In playback settings, Realtek audio is selected

I don't seem to be using Nvidia HD audio, since playback settings says that I'm using realtek HD audio. Is there a way to uninstall the HDMI driver without causing issues?

🙁 It still didn't fix it. Am I right in saying that It's because DVI doesn't carry audio and video and i need an HDMI 1.3 because HDMI carries video and audio and also supports 144Hz?

I'm using Realtek HD audio some games have audio and some games don't. My headset doesn't have a USB it has 2 jacks a red and a green and they're plugged into the back of the motherboard because thats the only place I can plug them into.
