Question No sound in games after playing video....

As the title says....

If a play a video in mediaplayer...it plays fine.....I have sound.

Then I no longer have sound in games.

I can close and reopen media player and I still have video sound....but no game sound.

I have to reboot to get the game sound back.

I've tried a few different thing but I have updated any drivers yet because I suspect a setting might just be getting changed.

Any ideas?

Make and model of your sound card and your audio equipment? If you're working off the onboard audio chip on your motherboard, first make sure you're on the latest BIOS update, then check to see that you're on the latest OS version. Following that, uninstall audio drivers and reinstall with the latest drivers found off of motherboard maker's support.

When installing, install in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

Sound is coming out a GTX 1080 from one HDMI port.to a 55" flat screen TV.
One other HDMI port goes to a display with no audio.
