Question No Sound on ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQM on Xbox or PC?

Just got a new monitor and have tried many things to get the sound working, but have not heard a single sound out of the monitor. So far I have used the HDMI for Xbox, and the Display Port for PC. I have tried multiple ports on PC, removing/updating drivers in different orders, and googled endlessly and nothing seems to work. Currently I am trying to find something on board audio related in my ASUS AMD bios but no progress yet. Would appreciate any tips that could put me in the right direction.

You do understand that there are NO speakers inside the monitor? Sound is achieved by plugging in earphones or powered speakers into the jack on the back of the monitor. Also use the on-screen settings menu, Sound option, to set the output level for the jack to a sufficiently high value.

lots of confusion on the web, some articles say it has DTS speakers, others show 2 small speakers...
