No sound on computer + videos in slow motion?

Hello,

So recently I've started to have a problem with Windows 8. Whenever I wake my computer up from sleep mode, it will start to not produce audio correctly and all flash videos will play in "slow motion" (10 stage fps on youtube). I've looked around and I can't find any answer to my issue (but I do see a lot of people with the same problem; so I'm assuming it's a software issue.) If I restart it fixes the issue, but it just happens again when I put my computer into sleep mode.

Any ideas? All my drivers are updated and I do have a Speccy if you need it.

(I haven't updated for a while because of that update that broke media player)

I installed all the latest windows 8 updates, now the videos play but the aspect ratios are messed up; there are small bars along the top and bottom of youtube vids and huge black bars on the sides of twitch.tv streams

This is getting really frustrating.

I'm not a Windows 8 expert but my advice is simple: stop putting your PC in sleep mode. That is, until you can fix the issue. You've said you've updated your drivers, but from what source? The vendor (i.e. ATI or NVIDIA), or Windows update? Have you installed any new software or hardware? What antivirus are you using, if at all? These questions are usually first on my list of questions I ask myself when I have an issue with Windows. Hope these can help.
