Windows Media center can detect your device, it is also scanning the channels and audio is there , only issue i faced was that it makes My PC slow .

If you are using TVHome Media 2 on windows 8 , you need to run it with the compatibility option (Run as Windows 7) with Admin permissions. You can Scan , and watch but there is no audio . Here is the good news . If you click on Record Button Audio will work . I know it is not complete solution, but that's all i can offer.
