Question No sound output

After installing a new hard drive, i cant hear any sound through speakers or headphones, all that is heard is hissing or humming.
I tried reinstalling windows and drivers but it didnt change anything.

I tried looking at other similar threads but they didnt give much of information on how to deal with the issue
PC specs:
AMD Radeon HD 7850
ASrock 760GM-HDV
8 gb ram
cant remember the exact cpu but its amd fx

Mind sharing where you sourced the installer for your OS? What BIOS version do you have on your motherboard at the time of writing? Make and model of your PSU and it's age?

I got windows from an old windows cd i had, since my other computer didnt use it.
Motherboard:

PSU: chieftec CTG-600-80p, about 7 years now or so
