No Sound Windows 10

Have looked at the other threads and nothing seems to work.

Brand new build fresh Win 10 install.
MSI board z170a gaming m5
-installed the high deh driver over the realtek driver and get sound but at full blast it is barely audible. Tried turning enhancements off and I then get no sound.
-Tried updating the realtek drivers and codec but neither helped, that is when i used the high def driver instead.
-Bout ready to trash the whole thing and use my old computer that HAS sound.

So the fix for me was to have my wife jump on hours later and play a video on Facebook. Fixed the sound after I had given up! Christmas miracle??????
