Help!! External speakers work with Win XP but not Win 7 Pro 64 Bit on my desktop PC. Using latest Realtek drivers. Unfortunately disabling front jack detection had no affect. I also tried changing "device advanced settings", no help, changed them back. OS "sound manager" and Realtek sound manager shows speakers plugged in, drivers up to date, "device working properly", volume 100%, not muted, etc. I've spent many hours installing, uninstalling, and reinstalling drivers (through Microsoft, Realtek, Biostar, AMD, etc.). Sound manager "animated icon" shows speakers working. Everything "looks" correct but still no sound. Verified that speakers work with Win XP and Realtek drivers. Have even installed a sound card w/drivers - no help.
Thanks

Seeing how you now have windows 7 you need the windows 7 64bit drivers and not the winXP ones. Also plus your "speakers" in the rear jack of your motherboard/sound card and not in your front case port. Also check your sound levels since it is a fresh install and your sound echo/boost settings in your sound/speaker control panel. Make sure your speakers and sub woofer itself are turn on and up and not just on the PC.

Hello... REMAIN CALM...
Go to Control panel/Sound and check for proper Realtek/speaker settings... start a audio file, do you see the bar graph moving? if you do, you have your Realtek jacks/speakers not connected or setup to your physical Jacks you want to use...
you can goto Control panel/Realtek HD audio manager program and right click on any of the connector icons to send the audio playing to the connectors or jacks your speakers are plugged into... it's called 'Re-Tasking" and is a very Kewl program/hardware feature. B )
What type and number of speakers do you want to use? How many physical connections do you have? Stereo? 2.1? 5.1? etc?
