No sound

I recently build a computer but no sound is coming out. Its a Z77 extreme 4 motherboard. I have HDMI plugged from my Sapphire 7870 to my 42 in iinsignia LCD 120htz tv. Any idea? Thanks.

What is set as the default sound device in the control panel?

It has been my tv. however it started working... for no reason. I fiddle with the sound but nothing changed then a couple hour later started making sound. I dont know if its because all the parts are brand new or what. But as of now I have sound.
