No sound

First thing you should try is looking in the bottom right corner of the screen and open up the sound manager, take all the bars there all the way up, (Max Sound)

If you already did this, I'd recommend looking at Devices, in the control panel.

Look if you need to download/update any drivers for your sound. And look if the device is actually there, if it isn't there, either you sound port in your computer is messed up, or your sound system is messed up.

Hope this helpes, post here if you need more help

I have a sound card?? because I have the colored jacks in the back ..thought you should know that i do not have an option of sound except to manually turn it up or down on the side of the monitor...there is no icon for sound....my email is cwc2shine@gmail.com thank you...but do i just need to go buy a new sound card and run the cd???? thank you

Do you really have a soundcard?
Because a good 80% of the posters on this forum refer to onboard sound chips as soundcards.
Which is incorrect!
A sound card is a seperate card that fits in a pci or pcie slot on your mobo.
It's an aftermarket device with the exception of a few high-end boards.
All motherboards come with onboard sound chips and the appropriate colored ports on the back panel.
That being said, both types require drivers to function properly.
Refer to the manufacturers website of either the motherboard or discrete sound card for updates.
