Hello,
I have a Gateway 7322 Notebook. I have no sound. I just replaced the motherboard and the volume icon seems ok, but no sound. The speakers are good. Any ideas?

Solution
You'll need different drivers to the XP ones...still amazes me why manufacturers don't have drivers for Vista on their wesbites. Try going into Device Manager and updating the driver from there.

If you still don't have a any luck take a look at [http://social.technet.microsoft.co...ead/f389b9a0-747c-497f-9a99-9ec0d3670baf]this forum. Someone on there thinks they have managed to do it by installing the driver's in XP compatibility mode. Have a read through and see what you can find.

Let me know how you get on!

The Gateway website should have the audio drivers for the original motherboard but you said in the original post that you had replaced it so you would need to find the manufacturer of the new motherboard and go from there :)

I believe the new motherboard is the same manufacturer. The computer boots up with the Gateway logo first thing. The sound driver from the Gateway site is for Windows XP. I have Windows Vista on this machine. I have downloaded this driver and followed the instructions, but it does nothing. Anymore ideas?
