No sound !

I only get sound when I check the "Enable digital cd audio for this CD-ROM device" box, under Multimedia properties. Then I get some crackles through the speakers.I have tried to uncheck this box and get no sound. How do I get analog sound ?

You have no sound at all, or just when you try to play a CD?

This is not a signature.

He's saying this because there is in an analog cable that is usually connected between the CDROM and the sound card. It may be not there or in bad condition.
