I changed my motherboard from an AsRock h61m-vs r2.0 which had VIA HD audio drivers to an MSI Z77A-GT43 which has Realtek drivers. after switching and the first boot, windows had to reconfigure the drivers. I logged in and downloaded the latest audio drivers from the msi website and installed them and restarted my pc. In the sound settings, it detects that my speakers are plugged in and shows that audio is being played through it, but i cant hear anything. i tried the front and rear ports but none works and the speakers are working perfectly when i plug my phone in. Is there anyway i can fix this?

Clean install is normally a good idea if you swap motherboard types. Weird bugs like this can happen otherwise

Have you looked in device manager to see what sound devices are showing there?

Is the HD Audio manager showing in the area near clock on taskbar?
