My Corsair SP2500 speakers stopped working a while ago, some components in the PSU burned out which it seems was a common problem. I now cannot get speakers to work from the back panel at all...I have tried every troubleshooting thing I can think of. I was wondering if its possible that when the speaker PSU blew, it could have also knackered the sound circuitry on the motherboard, and if so does anyone know how to test this?

Yes, it's possible of course.
To test speakers (if repaired) plug in some other device.
To test output port try headphones or some other speakers.
