NO Sound

My sound was working without a problem until yesterday.
I plugged a mike into the jack. It would not work.
I tired chaning setting in playback devices. Now I have no sound at all.
I uninstalled then reloaded sound drivers, no luck.
No conflicts in device driver.
sound works in Ubuntu.
Please help!

try:
control panel/system/device manager/system devices/ then right clicked on system devices then clicked on scan for hardware changes. You may have to do this more than once.

Thanks, but it did not help.
It says that everything is working, but there is no sound.
