I am about to install my Mobo, now I saw no speaker on my package to hear that boot up sound, even knowing that in the table of contents doesn't say anything about a speaker I saw a video tutorial on youtube that dude has one and conec it to the Mobo. I am lost i do need help in order to continue with my build. that youtube video is a lilttle over a year old.

Do I need one?
Can I added later on?
How important is?

Thanks!

I haven't had a speaker in any of my builds in 10 years

No you don't need one
It's pointless to add one
It'sd not important.

These days Asus enthusiast boards come with LEDs instead of a speaker and the better ones have a a OSD
monitor which allows you to view post codes. See page 2-22 of ya manual for the LED indicators; 1-3 and 2-59 for the OSD functions.

A lot of boards don't have them anymore. Does your case have one built in? Can your 'borrow' one out of an old case?

Bottom line, if everything works correctly, you don't need one.

Oh wait... just noticed.

Your board has a debug led. It flashes numbers instead of making beeps. Either way, it it works, what's the difference?
