No speakers or headphones are plugged in. Windows 10

My headphones are plugged into my PC though I do not get any audio through them and it tells me that 'No speakers or headphones are plugged in.'

Any ideas on how to fix it?

Can you please confirm since when did you start experiencing the issue?

If you recently updated Windows, please try updating the audio driver as well and see if it works.
