Yes it is from 2007, it will be used for a 3yo child for 2D simple games and youtube cartoons. I have tried gpt and mbr format before mounting in the laptop. It is a 4 gb ram dualcore amd turion 64 x2. If i succeed mounting a ssd, I will also try to upgrade cpu with an athlon ii p 360 socket s1 .Am I reading right that this is a laptop from 2007?
What format are you trying to use for the drive?
What is your planned use case for this machine? Given its spec this is going to be a very slow PC.
Kingston A400 64 gb sata
The 64 gb ssd is just for test, later I will eventually move to a bigger ssd. The current hdd is formatted as mbr. Sorry I don't understand the question regarding replies for OP.This is too small for current use cases.
Do you mind my asking why you are posting replies for OP?
Do you know what the current hard drive is formatted as?
The ssd is working just fine on another laptop, in the hp compaq I am not able to format. So when you try to install the SSD and format for MBR the system doesn't recognise it, or never able to even format?
Do you have an external drive bay that you can test this SSD in to see if it is working elsewhere? That is a pretty old drive at that capacity.
