No start-up beep BUT everything boots and works fine

Hi all, just finished a new build. At first start-up, there is no beep. However, I was able to go into the BIOS. I was able to install OS (on a SSD) and everything seems to run fine. The only problem I am having is the system doesn't recognize the HDD I installed afterward. This is the Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H mobo.

My old rig also has a gigabyte mobo (albeit older, different model). That rig doesn't have a start-up beep either but everything works fine.

For beeps, you have to connect a case speaker to the board's front panel connector.
Is the HDD initialized, or is it seen in Disk management?

I check Disk Management and only the Crucial SSD is shown. Maybe I need to do some configuration in the BIOS?

Try other SATA ports too.

Get one of these and put it on your motherboard header across the 4 speaker pins:

Make sure your SATA cable and power are connected securely and try the data cable in different ports....
