no surround option on realtek audio manager

I'm using an intel hdmi cable connection to a Samsung tv with an optical connection to a sony dav-dz660 surround system. Yet realtek does not recognize a surround option. Is it a driver problem or simply compatibility or is the registry ascertions not there?

I assume you have the tv connected to a pc somehow; tell us about how you have it connected; otherwise where does realtek come into play in this setup?

threw hdmi cable...msi gaming series intel core i7 to Samsung led tv...there is hdmi...yet no surround system option on speakers...merely stereo...I heard though most of the internet is in stereo...
