no taskbar labels

How can I remove the labels from the icons in the XP classic taskbar?

You can't. thats only for windows 7 and up. *maybe* on vista as well but not XP.

I don't see any though.
Just verifying, you are trying to hide the text by tabs on the taskbar (so it looks more like 7 or 8), correct?

I'm sorry, but as you can see, that option simply doesn't exist.

You can group similar taskbar buttons like this (if there's a lot of them) by checking the "group similar taskbar buttons" box

but that does not remove the label.
are you positive you were running xp when you did this?
