Asus Z270i Strix motherboard just arrived in the post.
Slightly annoyed at myself for this rookie error, but I blame my sheer excited-ness for not checking the specs properly, I have been waiting around for what seems like eternity for this board to be released. Yesterday it finally arrived and was installed (with everything else) into my tiny Fractal Design Core 500. I was in the last stage of fitting the Kraken X42 and connecting up the pump cables, only to find that on this motherboard there are no USB 2.0 headers?! I couldn't believe my poor eyes! (FYI USB 3.0 header is already in use for front I/O)
Can someone with a bit more knowledge than myself tell me what are the repercussions of running the Kraken X42 without the USB connected are? Will I only lose the CAM software and LED control? Or will all kind of pump control disappear too?
Ideally i'd like to enjoy the LED features and have it all connected up properly. But I don't think that's an option now regarding how tight it is inside my case. Not much more room for USB expansion cards and all that. I'm not sure what i can do, other than run it without USB connection.
Any ideas please drop them below. I'd be grateful!
