No video after installing sound card

Hello everyone,

First time posting here so please advise if I need to provide any more information.

I just recently upgraded my sound card and upon installing, my monitor would not get any signal from my graphics card. I just get the ON indicating light with a black screen which goes to power saving mode within a few seconds when i turn on my computer.

I'm thinking it may be a bios problem, any help on this will be greatly appreciated!

Things i've tried
- different cable - no picture on monitor
- take out GPU and reinstall - nothing happened
- Connected to my onboard GPU and everything works fine here.

GPU - EVGA GTX 960
MOBO - ASROCK Z75 Pro3
CPU - i5 2500k
ram - 8gb
PSU - XFX TS Edition PRO 650W

Here are the things I would check over quickly -

Have you correctly inserted the 8 or 6 pin power connector into the graphics card?

See if you can relocate the graphics card into a different slot or vice versa with the sound card.

If anything happens - please reply - i'm up all night 😉

Yes i've made sure all the power cables are connected. Unfortunately, i only have 1 slot for my GPU so i can't relocate it to a new slot, same goes for the sound card, only 1 slot.

Hmm. Try and install drivers for your graphics card from onboard graphics. Maybe you have dodgy drivers or outdated drivers.
