no video HDMI

I am trying to get my connect my main PC to my TV via HMDI, but all I get is a black screen with no video available. However when I take the HDMI cable out and put it into my mITX PC I get a signal and everything works fine. When connected to the mITX PC via HDMI my control panel says 1.19W_LCD_TV, but when connected to my main pc, it say generic Non-PnP Monitor. Anyone know why this is?

The PC isn't recognising the TV. Have you tried updating the drivers on the video card? Use DDU in safe mode to remove all traces of drivers, and install the latest ones from the manufacturer's website.

Pretty sure I have the latest Nvidia driver

It's best to check anyway. If that's not it, in some special cases, there are drivers for monitors. Because it's a TV it might not have native support from Windows.

But it works fine on my other computer just fine and that runs windows 7
