Hello,

I have put a number of PC's together from scratch. I just bought an HTPC case and the parts to go in it. I have managed to get power to it and everything looks fine, but I can't get any video what so ever.
I have:
Case: Antec Fusion Black w/ remote
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-G43M-S2H
Video Card: Gigabyte Geforce 9400 GT 1GB
Power Supply: Coolmax 500W
Memory: Kingston 2GB DDR2 667

I have tried a number of combination's, such as taking the video card out and using onboard. Both the card and the MB have VGA, DVI and HDMI connections. I tried each of them on both and still nothing. I took the CPU off to see if any pins were bent when locking it into place, but that looks fine. I have reset the CMOS settings with the jumper onboard, still nothing. I have tried hooking it up to my monitor and my TV, same result.

I can't think of anything else other then the hardware is defective. Does anyone else have any other things I could try to get this thing to display video? It would be much appreciated!

Just to be sure here, the system isn't posting? Any LEDs/Sounds on the motherboard that produce error codes?

If the motherboard is a dual BIOS board I would try swapping in the back up BIOS. Be sure that this doesn't void your manufactuers warranty though, although I don't know how they would ever tell that you swapped them at some point.

I don't have any error beeps. I get phase LED lights on the board. There are 4 of them. The first 2 are green, second is orange and third is red. The book says that this is a CPU load indicator.

I am not sure how to swap out a backup bios, not sure if this is a dual bios board or not. I will look into that, but if you have any insight, please tell :p

I figured it out. I had a brain fart which gave me a headache for 2 days. There was another power connector I need to put on the motherboard. Only thing is it won't reach because of how the case is layed out. So now I have to go buy an extender or something for it to reach.

Thanks for your help.

Well the two BIOS chips are on the board side by side somewhere and the board will probably have it labled. All you need to do is carefully pull them out and and put them back in. You just to find them, it can be hard to spot if you have if you have all the cables plugged in and the gpu installed, etc. But your manual should show where they are.

But, I'd look at other solutions before undertaking this one. I'm not sure what CPU load indicator means.

Glad to hear it was something like that.....it happens to all, so many plugs and so little space. :D
