I have gone through all the steps in the "system wont boot" thread: https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/no-post-system-wont-boot-and-no-video-output-troubleshooting-checklist.1285536/

I am stuck in my debugging efforts with this:
  • CPU gets warm some seconds after trying to boot (tried with cooler dismounted)
  • Power on USB ports etc.
  • Beeps when no RAM
  • No beep when booting with CPU, RAM
I get no video output on HDMI or VGA. Integrated on motherboard.

Everything worked just fine before switching the cpu cooler. First try of putting on the new cpu cooler left too much thermal paste on the cpu. But cleaned it up and installed again. Also I overtightened the cpu cooler but fixed it.

MOBO: Asus H110M-PLUS D3
CPU: I7-6700K
RAM: Hyperx DDR3
PSU: EA-550 Platinum

What is my next step in debugging this?

That looks fine to me. Will ponder abit more about what it might be then.

Which paste did you use? If conductive migth it give a short if it came on the motherboard.
Silverstone Thermal grease. Conductive material.

I’m not sure anything came on the motherboard. Don’t think so.

Just tried another cpu as well, doesn’t work either.

No idn't look like it when looking at the pictures again.

What cpu cooler is the new one?

Tried breadboarding?
Same as old cpu cooler, just replaced it. Closed loop liquid.

Yes have stripped it down to only necessary parts. Same :(

Could it be the motherboard or ram?

Am abit late with my reaction as well and didn't realize at first. Been busy.

Look at chipsets Z170/Z270.

Might even consider keeping what you bought and upgrade the cpu as well.Sell the 6700K.
Just some thoughts. ;)
Also my considerations atm :) Just need to make sure 6700K works before selling.

Some might already be selling their older Z390 compatible cpu's used so might be something to look at unless you want new.
Comes with that the thought of still returning that B365 and get latest 1200 chipset board.
