no video output

Hello everyone,

A few weeks ago I tried to build my first pc. Everything seems to work ok, accept that I do not have video output.
Even when I take out my GPU, the on board output does not give anything.
I don’t hear any POST error beeps when I boot the system. LED’s, keyboard, mouse, … all receive power.

These are the components I used:
MSI Z97 Gaming 7
Intel i7 4790
MSI GeForce GTX 970
16 GB of RAM (g skill trident)
corsair ax760i

Does anyone have an idea what is wrong?

Hi, Does the CPU fan spin when starting the board?
Is a case speaker connected to the motherboard?
Try leaving single RAM module and start the board. Test each RAM slot.

i just tried no RAM to see if i got any beeping sounds and i found out that i didn't even have a beeper.
the cpu fan works normaly and i also tried every singel ram slot but still nothing.

Are you using a tv, or monitor? What ports connected (DVI to DVI...)?
Can you post a picture of the board

i used a monitor with display port to display port and i also tried a tv with hdmi to hdmi.both didn't work and always said the same thing:'no video signal'.
and do you need a pictore from it when it is turned on or off?

When off, so that connections can be seen. What other connections are available on the monitor, beside displayport?

Hmm, got the same problem.
I reset the BIOS by doing the cmos jumper thing and removing the mobo battery but still no video output 🙁
(Leaving a comment to get notifications to fix my pc too 😛)

Connections look ok. Does the monitor work (can you test it with different PC)?
It would be good also to connect a case speaker to the motherboard.

the tv and the monitor both work,i can play on my ps3 and ps4 on them and if i want i can also connect my laptop to them.
and i'll look something up for a case speaker.

Try building your pc again by taking out every component including the motherboard (psu can stay tho) and put it all back together, thats how i fixed mine. The problem with my pc was no video output just like yours and my cpus thermal paste was leaked to the cpu socket, i cleaned it put the cpu back it, cleaned cpu, applied new paste and it works again. Another good thing is that my pc runs 40° idle now instead of 60° idle lol

i putt it back together and nothing was rong with it.
still no video output though
