I have an old pc and to give it a little more life I bought an r5 240 so I could run some basic games. The problem is that when I connect the video card, it doesn't give signal and the screen stays black.
Specs:
CPU: Core 2 Duo E7200
4gb RAM DDR2 667mhz
Asrock board wolfdale1333-d667
GPU: r5 240
Yes, the monitor is connected to the graphics card.
I tested the graphics card on another similar pc with a foxconn g41 and it did give video.
I tried with a gtx 560 ti that I borrowed and it gave video, so the port does work.
When I connect the r5 240 it does not give video, but if I disconnect the video cable from the card, and connect it to the board it gives video with the integrated graphics even if the r5 is connected, so I feel that somehow the graphics card is not recognized.
I already tried cleaning the graphics card connector, uninstalling the old drivers with DDU and also reset the board to factory defaults by removing the battery for 5 minutes and putting it back in again.
What do you think it could be? As far as I have tested, everything works and there shouldn't be any problem.
