I did a very stupid thing. I installed a PCI VisionTech X1300 on my ASUS P4P800-MX board with the intention of upgrading to Vista. I went into the ASUS BIOS and disabled the onboard video, so that I could get the X1300 card to work. After installing this card, I was getting messages that I needed to install a video driver. Since my X1300 video worked, I did not install the driver (stupid). I was told by ASUS that this board is not compatible with Vista. I am building a new computer and my plan is to keep my old computer and go back to using the onboard video. I would then switch the X1300 card out of my old computer and put it into the new computer that I am building with an ASUS P5K deluxe board. Well, as luck would have it, before I could switch, my video went blank. I cannot get my video to work with my X1300 card on my P4P800-MX board. I have tried to switch to my onboard video, but since I disabled the on board video, that will not work. I have taken the X1300 card out and reinstalled it and still no video. Can anyone tell me how to get my monitor to work with my P4P800-MX board?? Thank you.
 
You cant take the Bios chip out.....its on the board.

Look at your manual and should show you Clear CMOS switches. Theyre 2 little metal pins and you touch them together and short them. It should reset the Bios
 
Okay, I have the manual and it talkes about taking the jumper cap off of pin 1-2 and move to pins 2-3 for about 5-10 seconds then move the jumper cap back to pins 1-2. It also tells me when I boot up to hold the (DEL) key and re-enter the proper BIOS info. Does this sound correct?

I would expect that to work. The video card was still out and you tried the onboard video, right? Resetting the bios should have done it. You can try taking out the battery and turning off the computer for a bit. That too should reset the bios
 
When you move the jumpers over to pins 2-3, turn your computer on. It might tell you that the BIOS has been reset. Then power down, put the jumper back, and try again.
 
I moved the jumper to pins 2-3 and my computer would not power up. I then moved the cap back to pins 1-2 and it powered up, but no video.

did your bios screen or any thing else show?
 
MrBeanUSA if you have excess to another monitor that would be the first thing I try.

I had similar problem but I could see my bios screen and hard drive boot,turned out to be I messed up my os doing fresh install fixed it back . I was doing some oc and messed up os some how!

also is the green light on the monitor ever comming on are is it just yellow !
 
It was the monitor. It is an old LCD Hyundai that finally went bad. I just hooked up an old CRT monitor and everything works great. Thank you very much for all you help. I should have done this in the beginning. That now jives me an excuse to buy a new 22 inch LCD monitor. Thank you again.
 
MrBeanUSA glad you figured it out.

22" is the way to go I just got one 3 weeks ago,had viewsonic 19" 924xv the acer 2216 model blowed it away.

price of viewsonic was $350.. when purchased.acer 22" 2216 model was $229.00. it great so far.
