I own an HP Probook 4530S and It was working flawlessly until I took it to a HP center and I just wanted to open it up and clean it from the inside as the laptop was getting hotter with usage. So they did it and it wasn't until later that I found out that there was no wireless connectivity. Here's what I did:
- Reinstalled the Ethernet drivers
- Installed a fresh Windows 7 professional (Even installed ALL the latest updates)

Nothing worked.. and I know it IS a software issue but I just can't figure it out. Can anyone help me with this?

Thank you.

Does the wireless adapter show up in the device manager? They may have inadvertently disconnected or damaged the wireless adapter.

If it is there, does it show any exclamation point or does it say that the device is working?

And you will need to also install the correct wireless adapter driver, as the Ethernet driver is for a wired connection.

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, the wireless adapter shows up in Device Manager. There is no exclamation point but it says that the device is working perfectly.

The I would open the network control panel, go into manage wireless networks, and delete the existing networks. Restart and let your laptop find the network and re-enter the security key. Also, check the box to automatically connect.

There should be an icon down in the system tray (lower right corner) of a wireless signal that you can click on to get the local wireless networks to select from.

I think I might not have been clear and to the point in explaining my problem. So here's the deal, there is no WiFi access using laptop's built-in Adapter so I am using a TP-Link USB to get WiFi on my Laptop. Also, I am attaching a screenshot of my adapter settings and status. Thanks

So from that picture, you have the Realtek disabled, although you show that it has a driver and is working properly. If you enable the Realtek does it work?

For the TP-Link that is enabled, check to see if it is set to get an IP address automatically and what gateway address it is looking to for its address. You can use a command prompt and type ipconfig to get the information.
