No wireless connections shown

I have a 4 or 5 year old Gateway zx4270 that suddenly lost wireless connection and now won't show available wireless connections. We have other devices that are currently connected so its not the router or Midcontinent. Keeps showing error and says to connect an ethernet cable....please advise...what buttons do you push for wireless, if there are any? Much appreciated!

If you look in the Device Manager, do you see a wireless adapter listed under Network Adapters and if you do does it have a yellow exclamation point next to it?

What Windows OS version?
