Noctua NH-D15 & NH-D15 SE (for AM4) differences and Compatability?

Hi,

Firstly I wonder what the actual differences of these are. Of course it says one is specifically for AM4 sockets, does that mean that it is not compatible on other types of sockets? or is it just the mounting plates that are provided out of the box are for AM4 Ryzen processors?

If the AM4 edition can only go onto AM4 sockets then it doesn't future proof it in the sense that any future upgrades I want to make may not be compatible unless I go for only Ryzen CPU's.

Also I cant seem to find out if it would be compatible with my NZXT S340 case in terms of the height.

Any help/advise would be great!

No diff, and you can always order brackets for different socket for several bucks.
