Hi,

I don't know much about Building computers or compatibility issues . my current build was prebuilt and bought in 2012. only added new graphics card, and the cooler now.

I just installed new fan Noctua NH-D15 from Corsair Hydro Series H55 Liquid Cooler, and i was testing on Prime95 to see temperatures.

But after 3-5 mins with Prime95 running, my pc crashes and blue screen, saying
"Your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you. Clock_watchdog_Timeout"

The first time it rebooted itself , second time froze on the blue screen.

Cpu Idle temp is at 40c

When Prime 95 was running the cores going up slowly one or two hitting 60c . then pc would crash/freeze.

anyone would know what the problem could be or how would try to fix ?

my pc specs.

You have an excellent high-end air cooler. Your ambient temperature is normal and your Core temperatures are fine.

Here's the recommended operating range for Core temperature:

80C Hot (100% Load)
75C Warm
70C Warm (Heavy Load)
60C Norm
50C Norm (Medium Load)
40C Norm
30C Cool (Idle)
25C Cool

Core temperatures up to 80C are safe.

Hi,

I installed the correct version of prime95 now the 26 one and the testing works fine on there , left for 1 hour half going and no crash.

But Temperatures still seem high at round 41c idle , would be anyway i can reduce ? When the Blend was running this time the max Temp the CPU got to was 69c then would go back down was around 64c most time the cores. at 100% cpu ussage.

I thought this cooler would work better, then previous.

DrexWOlfHAM,

For thermal testing you should run Prime95 version 26.6 Small FFT's, which is a steady 100% workload that has steady Core temperatures. The default test, Blend, is a fluctuating workload for testing memory stability which has fluctuating Core temperatures.

What is your ambient temperature?
