Hey guys, a buddy of mine bought himself an aftermarket cooler for his computer to quiet it down as much as possible. After mounting the cooler(which was a pain), I got him to run prime95 and see what the temps were. At idle we had 40 degrees, and at full load it was at 49-50 degrees. Any word on of this is a good temp to have would be great, and if it's not, tips on how to fix the issue. Many thanks everyone!

see this it is in the cooler booklet you need to remove the amd one from the board and use the amd plate behind the board and made shure the plate do not touch the case if it is put some electruical tape on the back of the leg http://www.noctua.at/pdf/manuals/noctua_nh_u12s_manual_en.pdf for the case i have the first model and change my fan for those 2 in front one back and 1 on top the 120 mm turbine http://www.cougar-world.com/products/fans.html i did also use mx 2 as cooling paste or mx 4 if you have they do not need cure time .

The case is a cooler master scout 2, two fans in front and one in back. I'm not sure this backplate you're talking about, i did all as the instructions say. The fan is pointing towards the rear fan, so it's pushing air all the way out. I'm thinking I may need to reseat the cooler and see what happens.
