Noise coming from desktop when playing on max?

When I play WoW on max settings a hissing noise comes from the desktop, screeching. However on minimum its fine. WHy is this? I dont remember it being like this before, is it a problem with the GPU or something else?

This is called coil whine. it is normal with certain products and there isnt much you can do about it besides replacing parts. It is likely the gpu, but can come from almost any part (cpu, gpu, motherboard, powersupply). It's not a problem per-say, but it can be annoying enough to make you want to switch parts

Coil whine is something that can and does get worse over time as well, hence why you may not have noticed it before. If your parts are under warranty, you can try replacements, but some products are just more prone to coil whine than others
