Noise from SSD Drive?

I am hearing some high pitch noise from my Crucial MX100 SSD drive. I made sure it's not another component near the drive. It happens when the drive is in use. Changes pitch at times as well. It's faint, but there for sure. Is this normal for SSD's?

No my 40 dollar ssd doesn't make any noise nor does my 200 dollar one so that is a little werid

It could be COIL WHINE. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coil_noise

Try contacting Crucial to see if it's covered under Warranty.

There are no moving parts in an SSD so it is unlikely to be anything mechanical, coil whine is probably the most logical answer although to prove it you will have to return it to Crucial. Best of luck!

try sitting the SSD on something that won't vibrate. If that helps you might be able to dampen the noise when it's mounted

I will contact them thanks. It's soft, but the noise is there. I have heard this type of noise on cheap 110v usb chargers.
